SO WE WOULD WAIT EVERY 10 MINUTES TO HOLD UP TRAFFIC. THEN WE WOULD RUN THE TRAFFIC SIGNALS, UM, IN UPTOWN TO BE GREEN, TO THEN HOLD PEDESTRIANS FROM CROSSING THE ROAD AT JORDAN AND AGAIN AT THE, UM, CROSSWALK IN MIDBLOCK. SO WE IN UNISON WORKED THROUGH ALL THAT SO THAT WE WERE, UM, HOLDING TRAFFIC AND THEN TRYING TO GET THE FLOW THROUGH. UM, THAT ALSO WE WERE AT, UM, NEAR TILLOCK, THE TCAS, UM, HOLDING UP THE PEDESTRIAN FLOW THERE TOO, SO WE COULD REALLY TRY TO OPTIMIZE GETTING VEHICLES THROUGH. UM, WE MADE SOME STRATEGIC ADJUSTMENTS EARLY ON OF WHAT WE WERE SEEING SO THAT WE WENT FROM 10 MINUTES TO FIVE MINUTES, UM, BECAUSE WE WERE SEEING THE NEED TO, TO INCREASE THAT FROM WAITING FOR THE NEXT STOPPAGE AT 10 MINUTES. IT JUST, WE NEEDED TO, TO BUMP THAT UP. WE ALSO THEN IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT A HUNDRED FEET WAS NOT GETTING US THE ENOUGH, UH, BUILDUP TO GET ENOUGH VEHICLES THROUGH. SO THEN WE MOVED THAT TO 200 FEET EARLY ON. UM, BUT WE TRIED TO DO IT LONG ENOUGH TO GET THE DATA 'CAUSE THAT WAS THE WHOLE PURPOSE, TO SHOW WHAT A HUNDRED FEET COULD DO, 200 FEET, 10 MINUTES VERSUS FIVE MINUTES. SO WE PLACED, UM, ONE OF OUR STAFF HERE SO THAT WE, WE WOULD HOLD UP THE TRAFFIC DOWN HERE, THEN ALLOW THE FLOW TO START STREAMING OUT FROM HERE, UM, TO REALLY HELP WITH SOME OF THE TRAFFIC CONGESTION THAT WAS GOING DOWN STATE ROUTE 1 79. UM, AND THEN, UM, STANDING IN THE MIDDLE HERE WAS ALLOWING VEHICLES THAT WERE GONNA MAKE THE RIGHT TO THEN STILL USE THAT SUCCESSFULLY THROUGH VERSUS JUST GOING INTO THE BOWL AND HOLDING IT UP. UM, SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE ALSO CAME ACROSS WERE EMERGENCY VEHICLES. SEDONA FIRE WITH THEIR AMBULANCE AND FIRE TRUCK NEEDING TO GET THROUGH DURING THE CONGESTION. SO WHAT WE WERE ABLE TO DO IS, AGAIN, STEP OUT, HOLD UP TRAFFIC AND EITHER ALLOW THEM TO COME IN, UM, ON THE OPPOSING SIDE OF TRAFFIC. 'CAUSE WE COULD ENSURE THAT THERE WAS NOT GONNA BE ANYBODY THAT WOULD GO THROUGH THAT WOULD EXPEDITE THEIR RESPONSE DOWN 1 79. UM, ALSO TO WEST, UM, SEDONA AT ONE POINT. SO ALL DIRECTIONS BASICALLY WE WERE ABLE TO SEE HOW WE COULD HELP WITH THE, THE EMERGENCY VEHICLES GOING THROUGH ON DAY TWO, WHICH WAS SATURDAY.
