AT THIS TIME, I DO NOT BELIEVE THERE'S ANYTHING MAJOR THAT I HAVE HEARD BEING TALKED ABOUT AT THE MUSEUM, IF ANYBODY'S HEARD ANYTHING DIFFERENT, CORRECT? I HAVE THAT CORRECT.

UM, THE CHAIR MEYERS DID ASK ME TO, HE ASKED FOR ALL OF THESE THINGS TO BE PUT ON THE AGENDA .

UM, HE DID SAY, YOU KNOW, THAT THE, IT'S NOT TILL MAY, UM, HISTORIC PRESERVATION MONTH IS IN MAY.

SO WE HAVE A FEW MONTHS.

UM, AND OBVIOUSLY THE COMMISSION WILL BE INVITED AND WE'LL MAKE SURE WE'LL DO OUR, UH, PUBLIC NOTICES AND ALL THAT SO YOU ALL CAN ATTEND.

UM, BUT HE DID SAY THAT IF THERE WAS ONE MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION THAT WANTED TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITH ANY OF THE PLANNING EVENTS, UM, HE'S VERY COGNIZANT OF CREATING QUORUMS AND ALL THAT.

BUT HE SAID THAT IF THERE WAS ONE PERSON WHO WANTED TO, UM, HE WOULD START INVOLVING THAT PERSON IN

IT SAYS, CHAIR MEYERS IS IN THE PROCESS OF APPLYING FOR A GRANT FROM THE STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICE THAT WOULD HELP FUND THE UPDATE OF THE CITY'S HISTORIC SURVEY.

THIS IS PRIMARILY AN INFORMATIONAL ITEM.

IF THE GRANT IS AWARDED, THE COMMISSION WILL BE INVOLVED FURTHER ONCE THE UPDATE STARTS.

UM, SO, UM, CHAIR MEYERS DID SEND ME THE GRANT APPLICATION OVER THE WEEKEND.

UM, AND SO I'M IN THE PROCESS OF LOOKING THROUGH IT AND MAKING SURE THAT ALL OF THE INFORMATION IS UPDATED.

I FOUND OUT THAT IT IS DUE AT THE END OF THE WEEK.

SO WE WILL, IT WAS ADDED TO MY LIST OF THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK.

UM, IT IS A MATCHING GRANT, SO THE CITY ALREADY HAS MONEY SET ASIDE IN THE BUDGET TO DO AN UPDATE.

UM, THIS WOULD BE A MATCHING GRANT THAT WOULD PROBABLY ALLOW US TO GO A LITTLE BIT DEEPER THAN WE WERE ORIGINALLY PLANNING WITH THE BUDGET LINE ITEM.

BUT WE WILL JUST KEEP YOU GUYS UPDATED AND IF WE GET THAT, AND IF NOT, WE STILL HAVE MONEY IN THE BUDGET TO DO ON UPDATE.

I, UH, I'M THINKING THAT STATE GRANTS ARE LIMITED TO $10,000.

I THINK IF IT WAS UP TO HER ALONE, WE'D BE LANDMARKING.

SHE SAYS, I HAVE TO GET WITH OTHER, THE OTHER PEOPLE.

THEY HAVE THE BEAMS THAT EXTEND BEYOND THE FASCIA AND THOSE TEND TO, UH, GET DRY ROT.

SO HE MIGHT CAP THOSE AND HE, UH, I THINK IN SOME WAYS IT'S MIGHT BE A GOOD THING FOR HIM TO DO IT BEFORE WE, UH, REGISTER HIS BUILDING BECAUSE THEN HE HAS TO GO THROUGH THAT EXTRA PROCESS, YOU KNOW, OF COMING THROUGH US BEFORE HE DOES ANYTHING.
